She is best known for her Gonbi paintings on tissue paper and has a deep affection for everyday objects, excelling in transforming traditional art forms, particularly the patterns on blue and white porcelain. Her creations, such as the much-discussed Angel Hui's Aquarium and her imaginative repurposing of common items to create unique artworks, bring unexpected surprises and joy.
We are pleased to share her recent work "Make A Wish".
"Make A Wish" is a grand birthday celebration for the 500th anniversary of Emperor Jiajing's ascension to the throne of the Ming Dynasty and the 60th anniversary of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Angel Hui uses over 500 blue and white art pieces arranged on a 14-meter-long dining table, aiming to provide the audience with a dazzling visual feast. The audience can even transform into one of the banquet guests, sitting down at any time to participate up close in this cross-temporal party, enjoying the visual feast while experiencing the joy and a bit of the playful mischief.
